Where: James Island County Park, 871 Riverland Drive, Charleston, SC.

Time: 6:30pm

A two-mile fun run and walk and special preview of the Holiday Festival of Lights. Pre-registration is required.

November 13

Santa SightingsPJ Party with Santa

Where: Northwoods Mall, 2150 Northwoods Blvd, North Charleston.

Time: 7 – 9pm

Enjoy sweet treats, entertainment, face painting, balloons and storytime with Santa. First 150 kids (12 and under) who wear their PJs will get a FREE special pillowcase* to take home. *While supplies last.

November 13 – January 3

Twinkling LightsClassic CharlestonFestive and FunHoliday Festival of Lights

Where: James Island County Park, 871 Riverland Drive, Charleston, SC 29412.

Time: Sunday – Thursday, 5:30 – 10pm. Friday and Saturday, 5:30 – 11pm.

Each year, thousands of families create lasting memories at the Holiday Festival of Lights, where millions of multicolored lights illuminate the sky throughout 52 enchanting nights. Journey through three miles of over 700 magical light displays of all shapes and sizes. Park your car and enjoy family activities, shopping, food, entertainment, and so much more! Monday – Thursday, get into the festival for only $10 per vehicle (1-15 guests) with the donation of a canned food item or dog/cat food to benefit the Lowcountry Food Bank.

November 14

Free festivitiesGiving BackElfstravaganza

Where: Wonderworks Toys, Belle Hall Shopping Center, 526 Long Point Road, Mt. Pleasant.

Time: 9am – 2pm

Face painting, writing letters to Santa, decorating cookies, arts and crafts, and MORE FREE activities will be available all day. This event will benefit Hugs for Harper Endowment, Keys for Hope, MUSC Children’s Hospital, and Operation Christmas Child.

Santa Sightings Giving BackBreakfast with Santa

Where: Citadel Mall, 2070 Sam Rittenberg Blvd, Charleston, SC.

Time: 9 – 10am

Includes treats for the children, giveaways and pictures with Santa. Children bring toys to donate to Toys for Tots will receive a free Chick-fil-A breakfast. A balloon artist and more will entertain at the breakfast. The breakfast will take place in the mall food court starting at 9am, with the opportunity to take photos with Santa afterward.

November 19 – 22

falala fitness Festive and FunAll Weather Ice Skating

Where: Belle Hall Shopping Center, 526 Long Point Road, Mt. Pleasant.

Time:Thursday – Saturday 10am – 9pm, Sunday 10am – 5pm.

Ice skating is free and skate rentals will be available for $6. $2 off your skate rental when you bring a pet a food donation to the ice skating rink on Sunday, November 22nd between 10am – 5pm.

November 21

Holiday Shopping Buy Local Block Party

Where: 1630 Meeting Street, Charleston, SC.

Time: 11am – 5pm

The Buy Local Block Party brings community members and local merchants together for a one-of-a-kind social event that highlights locally owned independent businesses with live music, local artists, indie retailers, film and of course LOCAL food, beverages and beer garden.

Santa Sightings Twinkling Lights Free festivitiesLights Up

Where: Mt. Pleasant Towne Center, 1218 Belk Drive, Mt. Pleasant, SC.

Time: 6pm

Meet in front of Belk for a laser light show, train rides, live music, giveaways, and a visit from Santa.

November 21 – 23

Holiday Shopping Santa SightingsCharleston Holiday Market

Where: North Charleston Coliseum, 5001 Coliseum Drive, Charleston, SC.

Time: November 21 & 22, 10am. November 23, 11am.

Offering foods and fashions, gifts and glitter, music and magic – everything to make the holidays bright. This exciting Christmas extravaganza kicks off the season with specialty gift stores, fashion jewelry, clothing, gourmet foods, decorations and ideas, home accessories and décor, food and wine sampling, arts and crafts, and of course, Santa!

November 25

Where: Wild Blue Ropes. 1595 Highland Avenue, Charleston.

Time: 10am – 10pm.

Challenge passes are only $25. Reservations are recommended.

November 26

falala fitnessTurkey Day Run & Gobble Wobble

Where: Race begins in Marion Square in downtown Charleston

Time: 9am

Spend your Thanksgiving morning at the Turkey Day run and party afterwards with live music, free food and beer (for 21+) and activities for kids. Children’s run begins at 10am.

November 27-28

Holiday ShoppingHoliday Market at Middleton Place

Where: 4300 Ashley River Road, Charleston, SC.

Time: 10am – 4pm

The Garden Market & Nursery and Museum Shop kick-off the shopping season with an open-air market including local artisans and vendors, live musicians performing festive carols, complimentary hot cider and treats, and featured items in both shops.

November 27, 28, 29. December 3-6, 10-13, 17-23, 26-30.

Classic Charleston Santa Sightings Festive and FunA Lowcountry Christmas

Where: Boone Hall Plantation, 2330 Hwy. 17 N., Mt Pleasant, SC

Time: Fridays and Saturdays, 5:30-10:30. All other nights, 5:30 – 9:30.

The Christmas season comes alive at Boone Hall Plantation with an exciting new special event that is designed to bring some holiday magic and joy to people of all ages!

November 28

Where: Freshfields Village, 165 Village Green Lane, Kiawah Island, SC.

Time: 11am – 3pm

Free children’s activities, holiday craft and activity booths, live music, and treats available for purchase from local food vendors.

December 1

Twinkling Lights Free festivitiesChristmas Tree Lighting

Where: Hutchinson Square, 200 S. Main St., Summerville, SC.

Time: 6pm

Live music from the Summerville High School band and choir begins at 6pm. At 6:30 PM join the Mayor of the Town as he lights up Town Square.

December 1 – 31

Classic Charleston Festive and FunCharleston Strolls

Where: Broad and Meeting Streets, Charleston, SC

Time: 10am – 12pm

“Charleston Strolls invites you to enjoy our holiday spirit and seasonal decorations! Tour where carriages and motorcoaches are not allowed and take a fascinating stroll with stories and traditions revealing Charleston’s rich history and colorful past.”

December 2

Twinkling Lights falala fitnessStarlight Yoga at the Holiday Festival of Lights

Where: James Island County Park, 871 Riverland Drive, Charleston, SC.

Time: 6:30 – 7:30 pm

Join instructor Ji Hwang for yoga under the glow of the Festival of Lights. Pre-registration is encouraged.

Festive and FunThe Living Christmas Story

Where: Bethany United Methodist Church, 118 W. 3rd Street South, Summerville, SC

Time: 6:30 – 9:30pm

“A few nights each December, the parking lot of Bethany United Methodist Church becomes the city of Bethlehem. The pavement and the people are transformed into the Living Christmas Story, a drive-through re-enactment of the way life was 2,000 years ago on the night Jesus Christ was born. Not an ordinary Christmas play, the Living Christmas Story uses real people from the Summerville community who become the people of Bethlehem. Villagers, a blacksmith, the innkeeper, pottery makers, the marketplace and many more scenes come alive as you drive through and experience the night Christ came to us.”

Shop for ornaments, pottery, toys, jewelry, fine art, furniture metal sculptures, woven designs, art from glass, photography, and more from over 300 artists and craftsmen.

December 4 – 20

Where: Footlight Players Theater, 20 Queen Street, Charleston, SC.

Join Santa and Mayor Joe Riley for the lighting of the Christmas Tree in Marion Square.

Merry Productions Festive and FunNutcracker Ballet

Where: Gaillard Center, 95 Calhoun Street, Charleston, SC.

Time: December 5 at 2pm and 7pm and December 6 at 2pm

Enjoy this holiday classic presented by the Charlotte Ballet.

December 5 – 20

Merry Productions Classic CharlestonCharleston Christmas Special

Where: Charleston Music Hall, 37 John Street, Charleston, SC.

Producers Brad and Jennifer Moranz are bringing back audience favorites while creating entirely new musical performances and comedy sketches. Running Dec. 5-20 at the Charleston Music Hall, The Charleston Christmas Special is the perfect way to get into the holiday spirit.Kids’ Free Night on Dec. 17. Classic Charleston Santa Sightings Festive and Fun Free festivities35th Annual Charleston Christmas Parade

Where: Starts at Broad and Barre Street, proceeds down Broad Street and left onto King Street.

Time: 2pm

The parade will end at Marion Square with the arrival of Santa.

Where: Marion Square, King & Calhoun Street, Charleston, SC.

Time: 4 – 6pm

December 11

Where: R.L. Jones Center, 391 Egypt Road, Mount Pleasant, SC

Time: 6:30 – 9pm

Residents and visitors bring blankets and lounge chairs to sit back and enjoy an outdoor movie on Cinebarre’s giant movie screen!

December 12

Where: The race route starts and finishes at Southend Brewery, 161 E Bay Street, Charleston, SC

Time: 9am

Classic Charleston Festive and Fun Free festivitiesParade of Boats

Where: Charleston Harbor, in Downtown Charleston, SC.

Time: 5 – 8pm

The parade begins on the Mt. Pleasant side and ends at the end of the Ashley River.

Festive and FunFamily Yuletide in the Stableyards

Where: Middleton Place, 4300 Ashley River Road, Charleston, SC

Time: 5:30 – 8pm

Fresh greenery, berries and other natural items gathered from the plantation will be provided to make wreaths and other holiday decor. Stableyards artisan shops will be lit by candlelight as craftspeople ply their trades and interact with visitors. Seasonal refreshments provided.

The Best Christmas Pageant Ever

Where: Downtown Summerville, SC

Time: 3pm

This year’s theme is A Storybook Christmas. Come out and enjoy one of the largest parades in the state.

Festive and Fun Santa Sightings Twinkling LightsFree festivities20th Annual Christmas Light Parade & Tree Lighting

Where: Coleman Blvd, Mt. Pleasant, SC.

Time: 5:30pm

The festivities begin at Moultrie Middle school with the lighting of the Town of Mt. Pleasant Christmas Tree and fireworks! The parade follows immediately down Coleman.

December 17

Festive and FunA Christmas Carol Walking Tour

Where:

Time: 5:30pm or 7pm

“Sure you may have heard the story of Ebeneezer Scrooge and the three ghosts who visited him one Christmas night. However, if you have never heard the story as told by storyteller Tim Lowry, you have never really heard the story!”

December 19

    Thank you for the guide, however, the dates for the Charleston Holiday Market are for last year. The actual dates are for next weekend 11/13-11/15. Thank you!!
