Elizabeth K Milliron, MD, FAAP, IBCLC
Dr. Milliron is Board Certified in pediatrics, a Fellow of The American Academy of Pediatrics, and is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. After completing her residency at Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio, she continued her career there as an attending physician in the newborn nursery and a community pediatrician. She moved to Charleston in 2012 and took a position with Coastal Pediatric Associates. Her primary interests include newborn care, breastfeeding and child advocacy. Her interest in lactation care begin after the birth of her first son. She gained even more personal experience and interest in lactation care and breastfeeding with the birth of her identical triplets. Dr. Milliron then furthered her education to become an IBCLC. Dr. Milliron is thrilled to serve as Medical Director of the Breastfeeding Center of Charleston where she will regularly care for mothers and babies.
When not caring for families she enjoys spending time with her husband, their 4 sons, their dog and their cat. In addition to enjoying time at home with her family, she loves traveling and being at the beach.
Jesica Miller, RN, IBCLC, RLC
Jesica started her career as a RN in a cardiac intensive care unit. After experiencing the care of wonderful nurses and lactation consultants with the birth of her first son, she transitioned her career to work in a mother baby unit. During her time as a mother baby nurse, Jesica developed a strong desire to support other mothers. She knew the challenges of breastfeeding first hand, and was inspired by the lactation consults who assisted her after the birth of her second son to continue her education. She became an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant in 2008. Since that time Jesica has worked as a Lactation Consultant to assist new mothers and infants, mothers with low milk supply, mothers with multiples, mothers with history of breast surgery, preterm infants, infants experiencing breast refusal, and infants that are slow to gain weight. Her goal is to help all mothers have a plan to meet their individual breastfeeding goals.
When Jesica isn’t assisting other mothers, she enjoys spending time her own two boys and their dogs. They enjoy outdoor activities like hiking, bike riding, gardening, and of course the beach.
