Cupid’s Chocolate Treats

A friend of mine always made these yummy pretzel desserts and would bring a tray of them to parties. I couldn’t help but take her recipe. They were delicious and not too difficult to make. So, my disclaimer is that this is not MY recipe. I am using a version of a friend’s and have seen a few similar ones on the internet.

My 3 1/2 year old and I have been butting heads lately, and I realize that a lot has to do with jealousy over my constant attention to her baby sister. I thought this easy recipe would be a fun thing for us to do together and bring to her class’s Valentine’s Day party. Fortunately, I was right!

Ingredients:

Mini Pretzels
Hershey’s Kisses (I like the Hugs)

M & M’s (I used the Valentine’s Day colored ones)

*To prep, Elizabeth and I unwrapped all of the Hershey Kisses Hugs and put them in a bowl. We also put the M & M’s in a bowl which was a fun color-sorting activity as one bowl turned to two more!

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Place mini pretzels on cookie sheet.

Place a Hershey’s Kiss Hug on each mini pretzel.

Pop in the oven for 1-2 minutes to melt the chocolate.

Place an M & M on each melted chocolate.

Put tray in freezer for a few minutes to harden chocolate.

Use spatula and transport chocolate pretzels to wax paper.
