A Busy Mom’s Guide to Online Shopping

0

In my pre-baby life, my favorite hobby was shopping. If I had a free hour to spare, you could find me perusing the racks at one of my favorite stores. These days, if I have a free hour to myself, I spend that time running errands, working, or cleaning. I can no longer leisurely walk through a store without being interrupted by a tired or hungry toddler.

Online shopping has become my new happy place. I love being able to shop from the comfort of my own home on my computer, tablet, or phone. And what’s better than receiving a package filled with new goodies in the mail?

I’m going to share with you some of my favorite ways to shop online and save some money!

Zulily

Zulily offers collections from both up-and-coming and name brands at up to 70% off. New collections are listed each day for kids, women, plus size, men, maternity & nursing, home goods, toys, and more! Tip: The items are shipped from the brand to Zulily and then shipped to you, so it could take a few weeks to arrive at your home.

Jane

Jane.com is a daily boutique deal site that offers clothes, accessories, baby items, jewelry, home decor, and other cute and quirky items. Many of their items can be personalized with names and monograms. Tip: Shipping can take a while, so if you’re on a time crunch, you may want to shop elsewhere.

Groupon & Living Social

These are two daily deal sites that offer discounts on things to see, do, eat, experience, and buy right in your town! Tip: Always read the fine print and take note of expiration dates.

Joss & Main & One Kings Lane

This is where you’ll want to go to for unique and luxurious products for your home at bargain prices. Both offer designer-picked collections of high-end furniture and home decor at 70-90% off.

Amazon

What would I do without Amazon Prime? My Prime membership paid for itself within months. Amazon has anything and everything you could ever need, and things that you didn’t know you needed but end up buying anyway. They offer free two-day shipping. Enough said.

My secret online shopping weapons . . .

Rakuten

Formerly known as Ebates, Rakuten pays you to shop online! I repeat — Rakuten pays you to shop online! How it works: sign in and search for your favorite store. You’ll be directed to that store’s website where you can shop as usual. BUT, now you’ll receive a percentage of your purchase in cash back (in the form of a check in the mail)! It’s as easy as that!

Retail Me Not

Before I buy anything online, I always check Retail Me Not for coupon codes! Search by store and more than likely you will find a deal — whether it’s a percentage off, free shipping, or a free gift with purchase. Tip: Download the app to search for in-store coupons!
