(Updated October 2022)
It takes a village to raise a child. How many times have you heard that phrase?
It wasn’t until I became a mom that I truly understood the meaning of those words: your village, your people. The person you can text in the middle of the night because you know she too is awake feeding a newborn. The group you can meet with over coffee to laugh, cry, and share stories with. The more experienced mom who has seen it all and is willing to offer valuable advice. The people who won’t judge your parenting choices and know that you, just like them, are doing the best you can.
But how do you find these friends? If you’re shy or not into blind “mom” dating, we’ve put together a list of mom groups in and around the Charleston area. The first step in making a new friend is to put yourself out there. So put on your best yoga pants, wipe the spit up off your shirt, and go out there and find your people! We’re all in this together, mamas!
