Charleston International Film Festival

The 2016 Charleston International Film Festival will take place at the Charleston Music Hall. This five day event showcases different aspects of film-making and provides the community with an opportunity to become educated on all things related to the art and science of film.

Charleston Mac Off

Sample some of Charleston’s best mac and cheese from over twenty-five restaurants. Along with delicious food, there will also be live music, free children’s activities, and a mac and cheese demo kitchen.

Time: 12 pm-6 pm
Cost: Admission tickets are $10, children 10 years and under are free.  Tasting tickets can also be purchased for $1 per ticket.

Folly Jazz Festival

The third annual Folly Jazz Festival is centered around the Cultural and Educational attributes of Jazz in the Lowcountry. This year’s event will have even more acts than last year as well as additional venues.

Holiday Festival Of Lights

With over 700 light displays spanning three miles, the annual Holiday Festival of Lights is not to be missed! Along with the stunning light display, there is also a holiday train, carousel, and delicious treats for the whole family to enjoy.

Saturday, November 12

Park Day on Daniel Island

Head to this annual fall festival for a day of outdoor family fun that supports a range of local charitable organizations. There will be live entertainment, games, jump castles, animal exhibits, a food truck rodeo and much more.

Matrix Kids Rooms Grand Opening Celebration

Head to Matrix Kids Rooms for their grand opening celebration where you can shop while enjoying food and drinks. Bring the kids for some fun activities as well.

Charleston Horticultural Society Oyster Roast

The first annual Charleston Horticultural Society Oyster Roast is taking place on James Island and supports CHS educational outreach programs. Situated under the live oaks at the McLeod Plantation Pavilion, there will be endless oysters along with live music, games, and activities for kids.

Cost: Tickets are  $40 Adults, $25 Children (12 and under get in free)

Sunday, November 13

2nd Sunday on King Street

Shop, dine, and walk along King Street, which is closed off to traffic, on the 2nd Sunday of each month! Print this voucher to receive two hours of free parking!

Charleston Coffee Cup

Get your coffee fix at the third annual Charleston Coffee Cup. Sip on a variety of different local coffee shop samples and roasters, as well as food from local brunch spots.

Cost: General admission is $15 in advance, $20 at the door

Friday November 18 – Sunday November 20


Atomacon is a family-friendly literary, gaming, Sci-Fi, fantasy, Science and Technology convention for fans.  With guest speakers and several different programming rooms, there is plenty to do for the entire family.

Tuesday, November 22

Toddler Tuesday at the Animal Forest at Charles Towne Landing

Bring your toddler to take a walk through the Animal Forest at Charles Towne Landing.  Stay for a story and discussion about the animals.  *This program is designed for children ages 2-4.

Wednesday, November 23

Make Room for Turkey Day at Wild Blue Ropes 

Navigate your way through three levels of the aerial high ropes challenge course at this outdoor adventure park. Children ages 4-10 must participate with an adult.

Thursday, November 24

Turkey Day Run & Gobble Wobble 5K

Start Thanksgiving Day with a Lowcountry tradition that dates back thirty years.  Run, or walk, through historic downtown Charleston and out to the peninsula.  There will also be a Children’s Fun Run on Marion Square for kids ages ten years and younger.

Time: 9 am
