Halloween isn’t just for little kids… big kids and adults love a spooky thrill. So whether you’re a teenager looking for some haunted fun, or an adult looking for a fun night out, we’ve got all the best big kid & adult Halloween events in Charleston. As a bonus, many of these events and tours are offered year-round!

Boone Hall Fright Nights

Live actors. state of the art technology, and elaborate sets combine to ramp up the scare factor at South Carolina’s largest multi-attraction haunted event.

Family Fright Nights at Magnolia Plantation

Magnolia Plantation & Gardens, 3550 Ashley River Road, Charleston 29414

Calling all ghouls, goblins, ghosts and fairies, join us for Halloween fun at our 10th Annual Family Fright nights. This is a family friendly event full of entertainment for all ages where everyone is encouraged to come in costume! Games, treats, tons of candy, face painting, balloon twisting, hay maze, photo booth, costume contests, pony rides, & a fun house will all be part of the excitement. The popular Mad Scientist Lab is also back again this year and will be sure to fright and delight. Fright Nights will Feature a milder version of our Spooky Train Ride from 6 – 7:30 pm. After 8:00 the Train ride will be for the more adventurous at heart. 

Pony rides will be Available Oct. 19 & 20 only
Fun House will be available Oct. 26 & 27 only.

Ghostwalk and Hayride in Hutchinson Square

Hutchinson Square, 102 South Main Street, Summerville, SC 29483

Two Ghostwalk tours, G and PG. $4 in advance, $6 day of the event. (Kids under 3 are FREE!) Advance Tickets can be purchased at numerous local businesses beginning October 1. Hayride $3/ticket. (tickets sold at the event)

Saturday, October 20, 6 – 9 pm.

House of Terror

St. Julian Devine Community Center, 1 Cooper Street, Charleston, SC 29403
Test your courage in our haunted house, filled with rooms of thrills and chills! Children 12 and under must enter with an older sibling or adult.
October 21 – October 30, 7 pm – 10 pm

USS Yorktown Haunted Tours

This 90 minutes guided tour will walk you through a haunted, historical journey in which you will hear about the ghosts that have been reported to haunt the USS Yorktown.  You will begin your tour with an immersive multimedia experience introducing you to the USS Yorktown and the many accounts of its paranormal activity. You’ll be lead by a professional tour guide to the flight deck where many sightings have taken place. To help in your exploration, the use of a Ghost Meter will be available to measure possible paranormal activity that may be taking place around you. $25 per person, includes free parking

Ghost and Pirate Harbor Tour

Charleston Maritime Center, 10 Wharfside St., Charleston, SC 29401

Explore Charleston Harbor on this one of a kind ghost tour. Charleston’s forts, houses, and ships are the centerpiece of many of the South’s most famous ghost stories. Hear the tales of lost fortunes, pirate ships and tragic death while riding Charleston’s dark waves. Experience the fascinating horror that the Holy City’s pirates, wars, and storms have ravaged past and present.
