Fam Jam, A Free Family Festival

Marion Square, 329 Meeting St, Charleston, SC 29403

FAM JAM is the Children’s Museum of the Lowcountry’s signature annual event celebrating family and community togetherness and the power of PLAY. With the help of more than 30 community partners, CML transforms Marion Square in the heart of downtown Charleston into an engaging and innovative playscape. Featuring live music, entertainment, and hands-on activities,
this free family festival encourages kids to move their bodies and stretch their imaginations.

Shrimp on the Barbie Local Shrimp Festival

Come out and enjoy local shrimp out on the point. Adults $5, Children Ages 12 and Under FREE 
Concession Tickets – $1 per ticket, Shrimp – TBD. Local beer, spirits, soda, and water will also be available for sale

Summerville Sweet Tea Festival

Come enjoy this annual festival in historic downtown Summerville, the birthplace of sweet tea! With live music, food, and of course, sweet tea, it will be fun for the whole family!

MOJA Arts Festival

The 35th annual MOJA Arts Festival will usher in the changing of Charleston’s seasons with a celebration of African-American and Caribbean Arts. Music, art, theatre, dance, and other performance arts promise to wow audiences in an exciting lineup. MOJA, which means, “one” in Swahili, symbolizes the harmony of one community. Join in the fun and enjoy ethnic food, traditional crafts, children’s events, jazz, poetry readings, and much more!

Summerville Italian Festival

Hutchinson Square, Historic downtown Summerville

Experience authentic Italian cuisine in the heart of downtown Summerville. Along with tasty food to sample, there will also be a variety of imported and local wines to try. Admission is free!

Summerville Rotary Oktoberfest

Hutchinson Square, Summerville, SC

It’s Oktoberfest time again in Summerville. Come out and enjoy great family fun, food trucks, jump castles, German Music and of course plenty of great beer! Admission is free!

Oktoberfest at MUSC 

MUSC Health Stadium

Make plans to attend Charleston’s 15th Annual Oktoberfest at MUSC Health Stadium on Sunday, October 7th from noon to 6:00 PM. This year’s Oktoberfest will feature a wide variety of seasonal beers, live German music, German dancers, great german food from several local vendors, a kids zone, and more! Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the gates. Admission is free for kids 10 and under. Active duty military and seniors can receive a 10% discount with valid ID at the box office.

11th Annual Arts & Crafts Fair

Magnolia Plantation & Gardens, 3550 Ashley River Rd., Charleston 29414

Magnolia’s “Autumn on the Ashley” Arts and Craft Fair is back! On Saturday & Sunday, October 13th & 14th, dozens of Lowcountry artisans will feature their handcrafted items for sale from 9 am – 5 pm. Featured items include wood carvings, paintings, textiles, jewelry, photography, natural skincare, lawn art and more.

Goose Creek Fall Festival

Marguerite H. Brown Municipal Center, 519 N Goose Creek Blvd, Goose Creek, SC 29445

Head to Goose Creek for a day of fun including a DJ< crafters, vendors, kids play area, climbing wall, and delicious food! Proceeds from the festival will benefit Helping Hands of Goose Creek, a local food bank which supports families in need.  For every 2 non-perishable food items donated, guests will receive 1 raffle ticket for the giveaways.

Scarecrows, decorated by local businesses and groups, will be on display during this annual event brought to you by the Junior Service League of Summerville.

NCFD’s Annual Family Fun Day 2018

North Charleston Fire Museum, 4975 Centre Point Dr., North Charleston 29418

In celebration of National Fire Prevention Week, Oct 7th-13th, 2018, North Charleston Fire Department is hosting a Family Fun Day for this year’s theme “Look. Listen. Learn. Be Aware. Fire can happen anywhere.” Our annual event will be held on Saturday, October 13th from 10 am to 2 pm at the North Charleston American LaFrance Fire Museum in conjunction with Tanger Outlet.
We invite our community to enjoy apparatus displays from multiple agencies, a children’s section, educational booths, live demonstrations, free admission to the fire museum, food trucks, and great entertainment!

Latin American Festival

Celebrate the sights and sounds of the Latin world with live Salsa and Merengue music, authentic food and crafts, and plenty of fun for the entire family.

Hutchinson Square, Summerville, SC

The ghouls are back for 2018! The Junior Service League of Summerville’s annual Ghostwalk will take place on Saturday, October 20 from 6 to 9 p.m. All are invited to dress up in their best costumes and meet in Town Square for an evening of fall family fun! Ghostwalk features three guided tour options – G, PG, and PG-13 – to ensure a spooky time for guests of all ages.  Advance tickets are $5 and $8 day-of-event. All tickets include access to all games, activities and one guided Ghostwalk tour. Hayride tickets are sold separately for $4. The event is FREE for children 3 and under.

Harvest Festival & Block Party

Head to the 4th annual Harvest Festival, a free event for people of all ages! Activities will include trick or treating for kids 12 & under, a kids zone with crafts, face painting and inflatables, an artist market, pop-up pumpkin patch, live music and more!!
