Best Places to Brunch Around Charleston (Kid-friendly Edition!)

Remember the good old days where weekends consisted of lazy mornings followed by brunch, and then back to nap off that delicious meal? Well, those days may be long gone now that we have little ones in tow, but it doesn’t have to mean the end of brunch altogether. Not only is Charleston home to so many amazing restaurants, but there are plenty of kid-friendly places to enjoy brunch on a weekend (even if you’re not able to enjoy a nap afterwards!)

These recommendations come straight from you, our readers, as well as our Charleston Moms Blog team.

Brunchin’ with babes around Charleston

Collective Coffee Co.
766 S Shelmore Blvd, Mount Pleasant, 29464
Readers love the amazing food and great (non-chain) coffee with housemade syrups.

Vintage Coffee Cafe
219 Simmons St, Mt Pleasant, 29464
This one definitely has some fans with the moms! It could be the great food and coffee options, but it might also have something to do with the outdoor playground for the kids to run their energy out! Win-win for all!

Lost Dog Cafe
106 W Huron Ave, Folly Beach, 29439
Great food, close proximity to the beach, and of course, the dogs make this another popular one for families.

Page’s Okra Grill
302 Coleman Blvd, Mt Pleasant, 29464
Another fan favorite, readers love the great food at reasonable prices and the kids will love the huge portions of pancakes and sides!

Coastal Crust
219 Simmons St., Mt. Pleasant, 29464
What’s cooler than a mobile eatery? Known for their delicious wood-fired pizzas, Coastal Crust now has a brick & mortar location in Mt. Pleasant. And since pizza is an anytime of day food for us, it’s definitely worthy of being on this list!

Bohemian Bull
1531 Folly Rd, Charleston, 29412
This is definitely a favorite among our CMB team! Our contributors rave about the big, fenced in beer garden with lawn games for kids to play with. The breakfast burrito with pork also comes highly recommended!

Poogan’s Porch
72 Queen St, Charleston, 29401
Although this might be one of the “fancier” options, readers say it is still very kid-friendly. One of our CMB team members raves that the biscuits are the best she has ever eaten (shhh, don’t tell grandma) and your kids will love the story about the legend of Poogan the puppy stealing your biscuit or licking your hand!

Triangle Bar & Grill
1440 Ben Sawyer Blvd, Mt Pleasant, 29464
Known for it’s outdoor space and interesting menu, this is a great option for brunchin’ with kids!

Rue de Jean
39 John St, Charleston, 29403
One of the main selling points of this place, other than the delicious French food, is that it is right across from the Children’s Museum downtown so before, or after, a great meal you can let the kids run their energy out! (Or use it as a “negotiation” tool for behaving during brunch. No judgement here!)

Home Team BBQ on Sullivan’s Island
2209 Middle St, Sullivan’s Island, 29482
Living in the South means that good BBQ is a must, and Home Team does not disappoint! Their delicious food and yummy drinks make it a great brunch spot, and the outdoor space checks the kid-friendly box!

Home Team BBQ-Downtown
126 Williman St., Charleston, 29403
Home Team is obviously a fan favorite for not only the food and drinks, but the outdoor space and chalkboard wall which will keep the kids entertained. Sounds perfect!

Three Little Birds Cafe
65 Windermere Blvd, Charleston, 29407
The patio here makes Three Little Birds Cafe a super popular pick among our readers. It’s easy to see why since they provide chalk for the patio ground, as well as coloring pages and crayons! You’re welcome!

Morgan Creek Grill
80 41st Ave, Isle of Palms, 29451
Readers and the CMB team rave about the outside area here where you get beautiful views (what’s not to love?!) Tip: try the Island French Toast!

The Refuge IOP
1517 Palm Boulevard a, Isle of Palms, 29451
Another IOP favorite, there is a delicious assortment of coffees to choose from, and a great menu that includes shrimp & grits, as well as many other breakfast & brunch favorites.

Workshop Charleston
1503 King St, Charleston, 29405
Workshop has quickly become one of Charleston’s most popular places to eat. It’s not hard to see why as it dubs itself an “exploratory food court” with lots of different options. The large tables are perfect for family gatherings.

Toast of Summerville
717 Old Trolley Rd Unit 10, Summerville, 29485
It’s hard to pick a favorite meal here. The french toast is delicious, but the eggs benedict is also a fan fave. Kids will love the pancakes, and there is also a small patio to eat outside.

Five Loaves Cafe-Summerville
214 N Cedar St, Summerville, 29483
Five Loaves boasts a healthy, farm-to-table menu with plenty of vegan and gluten-free options. You won’t be disappointment with anything on the menu, and the atmosphere is very family-friendly. If you have to wait for a table, you can sit in the cute rocking chairs on the front porch in true southern form.

Rusty Rudder
3563 N Hwy 17, Mt Pleasant, 29466
With an outdoor patio, live music, and southern food, what’s not to love? Did we mention bottomless mimosas?

Bluerose Cafe
652 St Andrews Blvd, Charleston, 29407
Bluerose Cafe is another one that boasts outdoor seating and live music, and their menu has lots of vegan and gluten-free options.

Saffron Restaurant & Bakery
333 E Bay St, Charleston, 29401
While they may be known for their shrimp & grits for brunch, you can’t pass up one of their amazing desserts and baked goods. You deserve to treat yourself!

Hominy Grill
207 Rutledge Ave, Charleston, 29403
We couldn’t talk about brunch in Charleston without mentioning one of the city’s most popular ones. People love the homey atmosphere and delicious local food. But be prepared to wait for a table because of the aforementioned popularity!
