Best Places to Brunch Around Charleston (Kid-Friendly Edition!)

3

Remember the good old days where weekends consisted of lazy mornings followed by brunch, and then back to nap off that delicious meal? Well, those days may be long gone now that we have little ones in tow, but it doesn’t have to mean the end of brunch altogether. Not only is Charleston home to so many amazing restaurants, but there are plenty of kid-friendly places to enjoy brunch on a weekend (even if you’re not able to enjoy a nap afterward!)

These recommendations come straight from you, our readers, as well as our Charleston Moms team.

Kid-Friendly Brunch Around Charleston

Collective Coffee Co.
766 S Shelmore Blvd, Mount Pleasant, 29464
Readers love the amazing food and great (non-chain) coffee with housemade syrups.

Vintage Coffee Cafe
219 Simmons St, Mt Pleasant, 29464
This one has some fans with the moms! It could be the great food and coffee options, but it might also have something to do with the outdoor playground for the kids to run their energy out! Win-win for all!

Lost Dog Cafe
106 W Huron Ave, Folly Beach, 29439
Great food, proximity to the beach, and of course, the dogs make this another popular one for families.

Page’s Okra Grill
Locations in Mt. Pleasant and Summerville
Another fan favorite, readers love the great food at reasonable prices and the kids will love the huge portions of pancakes and sides!

Coastal Crust
219 Simmons St., Mt. Pleasant, 29464
What’s cooler than a mobile eatery? Known for its delicious wood-fired pizzas, Coastal Crust now has a brick-and-mortar location in Mt. Pleasant. And since pizza is any time of day food for us, it’s worthy of being on this list!

Bohemian Bull
1531 Folly Rd, Charleston, 29412
This is a favorite among our CM team! Our contributors rave about the big, fenced-in beer garden with lawn games for kids to play with. The breakfast burrito with pork also comes highly recommended!

Poogan’s Porch
72 Queen St, Charleston, 29401
Although this might be one of the “fancier” options, readers say it is still very kid-friendly. One of our CMB team members raves that the biscuits are the best she has ever eaten (shhh, don’t tell grandma) and your kids will love the story about the legend of Poogan the puppy stealing your biscuit or licking your hand!

Rue de Jean
39 John St, Charleston, 29403
One of the main selling points of this place, other than the delicious French food, is that it is right across from the Children’s Museum downtown so before, or after, a great meal you can let the kids run their energy out! (Or use it as a “negotiation” tool for behaving during brunch. No judgment here!)

Home Team BBQ
Locations in West Ashley, Sullivan’s Island, Downtown, and Mt. Pleasant
Living in the South means that good BBQ is a must, and Home Team does not disappoint! Their delicious food and yummy drinks make it a great brunch spot, and the outdoor space checks the kid-friendly box!

Three Little Birds Cafe
65 Windermere Blvd, Charleston, 29407
The patio here makes Three Little Birds Cafe a super popular pick among our readers. It’s easy to see why since they provide chalk for the patio ground, as well as coloring pages and crayons! You’re welcome!

The Refuge IOP
1517 Palm Boulevard a, Isle of Palms, 29451
Another IOP favorite, there is a delicious assortment of coffees to choose from, and a great menu that includes shrimp & grits, as well as many other breakfast & brunch favorites.

Toast
Locations in Summerville, West Ashley, and Downtown
It’s hard to pick a favorite meal here. The French toast is delicious, but the eggs benedict is also a fan fave. Kids will love the pancakes, and there is also a small patio to eat outside.

Saffron Restaurant & Bakery
333 E Bay St, Charleston, 29401
While they may be known for their shrimp & grits for brunch, you can’t pass up one of their amazing desserts and baked goods. You deserve to treat yourself!

The Icehouse
