Halloween isn’t just for little kids…big kids and adults love a spooky thrill. So whether you’re a teenager looking for some haunted fun, or an adult looking for a fun night out, we’ve got all the best big kid and adult spooky Halloween events in Charleston. As a bonus, many of these events and tours are offered year-round!

Boone Hall Fright Nights

Live actors. state-of-the-art technology and elaborate sets combine to ramp up the scare factor at South Carolina’s largest multi-attraction haunted event.

Open the following dates: September: 23, 29, 30, and October: 6, 7, 8, 13, 14, 15, 19, 20, 21, 22, 26, 27, 28, 29

Security checkpoint, food vendors, and the midway will open each night at 6:30 p.m. Attraction lines will open at 7:15 p.m. with attractions opening at dark. On weeknights (Sundays – Thursdays) parking/ticket windows will close at 9:30 pm with all attractions closing at 10:00 pm. On weekends (Fridays and Saturdays), parking/ticket windows will close at 11:30 p.m. and all attractions will close at 12:00 midnight.

Experience Charleston’s premier haunted house attraction – TRAPPED at Holy City Brewing – presented by Southern Screams. Open for 27 terrifying nights beginning September 29, including two special LIGHTS OUT nights November 3-4! Tickets are always cheaper if you purchase online in advance instead of at the door!

NOTE: This event uses timed ticketing slots. When you purchase your ticket, please select a time slot that you would like to attend the haunted house attraction. This simply means that you need to arrive to Holy City Brewing and check in at some point during the time slot you have selected. NO bags or weapons are allowed inside the haunted house!

Hanahan Fire Department Haunted Firehouse

Come support a great cause and experience South Carolina’s first “Haunted Firehouse.” Bring the kids to our Fire Prevention Open House. Enjoy our featured food trucks Chucktown Meatball Co., Cast Iron, & Los Gordito’s. Learn about fire safety in our smokehouse trailer courtesy of Joint Base Charleston FD. We also have bounce houses, face painters, and much, much more.

Ghostly Tide Tales

Front Beach – Follow beach access path beside the sea cabins

Are you brave enough? Come out and join us on the beach to listen to local haunting stories as you sit by an open campfire.

Ghostwalk and Hayride in Hutchinson Square

Hutchinson Square, 102 South Main Street, Summerville, SC 29483

All are invited to dress up in their best costumes and meet in Town Square for an evening of fall family fun!  Ghostwalk features 2 guided tour options – G, PG, &  a Haunted House sponsored by The Winchester Spa and Salon, to ensure a spooky time for guests of all ages.

In addition to the walking tours, the event will feature entertainment, games, hayrides, and food trucks.

Advance tickets are $5 and $8 the day of the event.  All tickets include access to all games, activities, and 1 guided Ghostwalk tour.  Hayride tickets are sold separately for $4 in advance and $5 the day of the event.  If a Ghostwalk tour or Haunted House isn’t for you, we will have Games Only tickets available for $3.  The event is FREE for children 3 and under.

Charleston Ghost Tours: Relive Spooky Tales of Pirates, Wars, and More

Charleston Maritime Center, 10 Wharfside St., Charleston, SC 29401

Explore Charleston Harbor on this one-of-a-kind ghost tour. Charleston’s forts, houses, and ships are the centerpiece of many of the South’s most famous ghost stories. Hear the tales of lost fortunes, pirate ships, and tragic deaths while riding Charleston’s dark waves. Experience the fascinating horror that the Holy City’s pirates, wars, and storms have ravaged past and present.
