March for Babies

Premature birth is the #1 killer of babies

But it doesn’t have to be.  When you join March for Babies  and raise money, you’re supporting programs that help moms have healthy, full-term pregnancies, and funding research to find causes and way to prevent premature birth.

South Carolina has one of the highest premature birth rates in the country, with one in nine babies (or more than 6,000) born prematurely each year. Premature babies struggle to survive, and may face life-long health and developmental consequences. In nearly half of all cases premature births happen for unknown reasons—even moms who are doing everything right may have a premature baby. That’s why the research funded by the March of Dimes is so important.

Start a March for Babies team with your family, friends and neighbors—or start a team at your workplace! Find out more and watch Kaya’s Story here.

Register now and start fundraising online at marchforbabies.org. You’ll find online and social media resources to download on our site. Then, contact Shannon Rice at the March of Dimes at 614-3357 or [email protected]. Shannon will give you additional tools to get your team started.

We have exciting new event experiences planned for March for Babies this year. We hope you will join us to celebrate babies at March for Babies in Charleston on April 29, 2017!
