Does your family Elf? I can remember thinking back before we received our Elf, Melody Elfkins, a few years back, “Geez, that’s all nice for people to do with their kids, but honestly, I just do not have time for all that, especially around the holidays!”
Well, guess what?! We jumped on the bandwagon! My husband thought it would be “cute” & “fun,” so we did it. I must admit, I actually enjoy coming up with new ways to surprise our youngest. My oldest likes to join in and help and even moves the elf when she sees I forgot Melody is still asleep. Sometimes I am feeling really creative and Melody does something really awesome, and other times I just move her to be moving her and… well… at least she moved. You know the times I mean. Like when you drag yourself downstairs at 6:30 am to start breakfast, hair a mess, barely awake, trying to figure out what you are doing and wishing for the day you can actually sleep til 8:00?! And then you hear “Melody (The Elf) is in the same spot!” Total panic mode! A quick move from the tree to the fireplace while breakfast is being eaten will do the trick for now, and I’ll make up for it tonight!
